FOTD, Prestige Fresh Glow Blush and Revlon Photo Ready

It is such a beautiful day today. The sun is shining and I am happy! Since it's Mother's Day, myself and my sister went and did the weekly grocery shop at Sainsbury's whilst my Mum relaxed at home. This is just the look I wore today, it's really quick, fresh and light and it does not feel or look like I am wearing a lot of make up. Ok, so it's nothing special but I felt confident and pretty wearing it.

Foundation - Revlon Photoready in Vanilla.

Concealer - MAC Studio Sculpt NW15 and Garnier Tinted Eye Roll On in Light.

Eyes - Urban Decay Primer Potion, Urban Decay Curiouser (grifter) from AiW
palette, Maybelline Pulse Perfection Mascara.

Cheeks - 17 Blush & Glow in Strawberry Swirl (just the blush side) topped with Prestige Fresh Glow Baked Mineral Blush in Peach.

Lips - Darphin Shimmering Shine Lip Gloss in Rose Petillant.

This is the first time I have used the Revlon Photo Ready foundation and so far so good. It is not a heavy foundation yet the medium coverage managed to even out my complexion and it has lasted well so far. It's a little shimmery in the sunshine but I think it works well with my dry skin.

Another new product that I used in this look is the Prestige Fresh Glow Blush in Peach. These are currently on offer in Boots for £5.99 (RRP £7.99) and come in four shades; Pink, Natural, Peach and Terra Rosa. I wanted to buy all four of them but I composed myself and selected just the Peach (although, I may go back and but the rest come pay day!)

This baked mineral blush is mainly peach but does have some pretty pink veining throughout. The formulation is smooth and non chalky and it sits really well on the skin.

The blush creates a light peachy sheen to your cheeks and can be layered over other blushes. I found it hard to take a photo of this swatch but here are two below.

17 Candy Collection Blush & Glow - Strawberry Swirl

I do not normally purchase items from the Boots 17 range but I was drawn to this whilst out shopping today. This is the Blush & Glow in Strawberry Swirl from the Candy Collection. One side of the pot can be used as a blush and the other can be used as a highlighter. The formulation of these powders are quite good considering how inexpensive the product is (£3.69), they blend well and are not chalky. The blush side gives my complexion a healthy yet slightly flushed natural rosy glow with a slight gold sheen and the highlighter side is also golden toned and has just the right amount of shimmer in it.

The Blush & Glow duo also comes in Peach Melba and I think that I will probably be getting this too as I am so far impressed with this product.

Is It Spring Yet? NOTD

The few rays of sunshine and warmth that we had at the end of last week was lovely and I was praying that it would continue... my hopes were dashed! To pick myself up I decided to paint my nails in a bright spring/summer like colour.

I have had this H&M nail polish for over a year and it is still a winner for me. It is Sophisticated Susanna and is a pink/coral with a slight shimmer. The application of this is smooth but you do need about 2 coats to get it to an opaque finish.

The photo below is day two of me wearing this colour with an inexpensive Natural Collection clear polish as a base and top coat. It has lasted well so far except for the chip on my little finger but this is more to do with me bashing it than general wear. Ouch!

H&M nail polishes are relatively cheap (I think I picked this up for £1.50) and I have not had any trouble with application or durability for the handful that I have tried.

Excuse the weathered hands. I am about to trial out a new hands cream, so hopefully that should do the job.

Entry: Illamasqua Nail Varnish Competition

Urban Decay Alice In Wonderland Palette

I was adament that I was not going to get this palette as it was all about the packaging and I hardly use the shadows in my Book of Shadows Vol II. But all of the talk on Twitter about this bent my ear. I ended up getting this on the Debenhams website for £25 including delivery thanks to a discount code given to me by the lovely Charlotee at Lipglossiping.

How pretty does this scene look? Useless but very pretty!

I'm not going to swatch all of the colours as there are lots and lots of blogs that you can find that on but I will show you my favourite colours in the palette.

Left to Right - Absolem, Alice, Underland and Muchness.

Are you a fan of Urban Decay shadows? What are your favourite shadows in the palette?
